How we got here

From enterprise engineering, to Artistry Builders, to Hyperscale

One long thread: twenty years of watching businesses spend heavily on the wrong software, and a stubborn belief that it doesn't have to be that way.

    The story

    Four chapters, one idea

    1. 2006 – 2018

Twenty years inside other people's problems

Two decades building and securing software for large organisations — banks, retailers, health, energy. Enough time to notice the pattern: the expensive mistakes almost never came from bad code. They came from building the wrong thing beautifully, because nobody stopped to ask what the business actually needed.

    2. 2019 – 2023

      The gap nobody was serving

Smaller businesses had the same problems and none of the budget. They'd be quoted six figures for a six-month discovery phase before a single useful thing existed. Meanwhile new tools made building far quicker — but quick building without judgement just produces expensive rubbish faster.

    3. 2024

      Artistry Builders

Founded to close that gap: sit with a founder for half an hour at a time, work out in plain English what's really going wrong, and build only the thing that fixes it. No spec required, no lock-in, and the founder learns enough along the way to keep going without us.

    4. Today

      And then Hyperscale

As the work grew, so did the questions — hosting, security, compliance, cloud costs. Hyperscale Consulting is where that heavier lifting lives. Same people, same plain English, with the platform and security depth a growing business eventually needs.

    Where it leads

    Hyperscale Consulting

When a business outgrows half-hour sessions, this is where the platform, security and cloud work carries on.

"Every business I've helped started the same way — someone saying, I'm not sure this is even a software problem."
